MOUNTAINEERS CONSIDERING MOVE TO GSFL

IMPORTANT MOUNTAINEERS ANNOUNCEMENT: Mountaineers players and families, the MWV Mountaineers program is considering a league change for the 2012 season. Due to various factors outside our control, we are looking at moving to the Granite State Football League (granitestatefootball.com). The highly competitive GSFL is comprised of twelve teams in two different divisions across the state of New Hampshire. The Pop Warner Little Scholars system continues to be a program that we believe in strongly. We are proud of our affiliation with NH Pop Warner. This possible change is in regard to other factors outside of Pop Warner.

THE CHANGE WOULD OPEN UP OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM TO ANY AND ALL 6th, 7th and 8th GRADE STUDENTS FROM ANY SCHOOL IN THE REGION. The Mountaineers would form two teams: a Junior Varsity team comprised of 6th and 7th graders; and a Varsity team made up of 8th graders. Younger players would have the ability to move up to the Varsity program, but not as starters. As always, OUR GOAL IS TO DEVELOP A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PROGRAM, based on coaching excellence, academics and the involvement of each player, regardless of ability or experience.

We will be having a registration event on SUNDAY, MARCH 4TH, from 9:30 to 11:30 at the North Conway Community Center. If you or any student from any school are interested in learning more about our program, please tell them about the March 4th registration. If you have any questions whatsoever, don’t hesitate to contact me here.

Sincerely,
Thom Pollard
Vice President – Mount Washington Valley Mountaineers Football
